The power is off in a large portion of the Quinte region of eastern Ontario.
About 9,500 customers on the west side of Trenton, and in the Brighton, Carrying Place and Consecon areas are affected.
The cause of the outage, which began around 4:45 p.m. Monday, hasn't been released.
Hydro One says its crews are working to restore service but says it could be early Tuesday before power is restored to all customers.
