A Quebec man has appeared in court on six child-pornography charges, including possessing and accessing the material.

Jonathan Bettez was arraigned in Trois-Rivieres this morning and later released pending certain conditions, including posting $5,000 bail and giving up his passport.

The alleged crimes occurred between 2009 and 2013.

Bettez, 36, was arrested Monday.

The family of a Trois-Rivieres girl who disappeared in 2007 and whose remains were found last year were in the courtroom.

Nobody has been arrested in Cedrika Provencher's death and none of the charges against Bettez are related to the slaying.
