Ontario Provincial Police say the search for a missing swimmer in western Lake Erie is now a recovery effort.
A 56-year-old Michigan woman went out on a boat with some friends on Sunday afternoon and police say two members of the group were swimming near the boat when one struggled and went under the surface.
The OPP say they are using a side scan sonar to search the waters near the Colchester Harbour south of Essex.
The missing woman's name has not been released.
