Ontario's police watchdog is investigating after a 74-year-old woman was struck by a police cruiser in Hamilton on Monday afternoon.
The Special Investigations Unit says the woman was crossing Dundurn Street at the King Street intersection at about 3:30 p.m. when she was hit by the cruiser.
She was taken to hospital for treatment of a leg injury.
Three investigators, one forensic investigator and a collision reconstructionist are looking into the incident.
The SIU investigates all police interactions that involve death, injury or allegations of sexual assault.
