A strike deadline has been set for faculty at the University of Windsor.

The university's faculty association says if a settlement isn't reached by 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 1, it will go on strike until a deal is reached.

It is urging the university's administration to return to the bargaining table.

A mediator met with both sides separately earlier this week but there is a media blackout on the session.

There is no date to resume talks, and wages remain a key issue.

A strike would affect about a thousand members.
