A man is facing multiple charges in connection with an investigation into young women being forced to work as escorts in the Greater Toronto Area.

Durham regional police say the man was advertising escort services in communities including Pickering, Ajax and Whitby.

A suspect was arrested Thursday at a Pickering car rental agency and police say officers who executed a search warrant at the man's east-end Toronto residence seized a quantity of drugs.

O'Neil Thompson, 30, faces 14 charges, including human trafficking, robbery, assault, withholding documents and four drug-related charges.

He's being held for a bail hearing.
