Police have identified the victim of a recent shooting in downtown Toronto as 32-year-old Jelena Loncar.

Police were called to the scene of the shooting (in the Spadina Avenue and Wellington Street West area) shortly after 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found a man and an unconscious woman in the area with apparent firearm wounds.

They were both taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The woman died of her injuries in hospital.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have images or videos of the incident to send them to police.
