Toronto police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run.

A 39-year old woman was struck and killed around nine o'clock last night while crossing the street in the city's west end (at Bloor Street and Dovercourt).

Toronto fire said the victim was without vital signs when she was rushed to St. Michael's Hospital.

Police say the driver of the vehicle would certainly know they'd hit something given the force of the impact.

They describe the vehicle as a white four door with likely damage to its front end.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
