Toronto police are investigating after they say an officer was hit by a stolen car in the city's east end.
The officer suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his leg.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (on Markham Road north of Eglinton Avenue East).
Police say plainclothes officers were in the area on an unrelated matter when they spotted a car that was reported stolen.
It's alleged the driver drove the car into the officer, who fired one shot.
Police say the car then crashed a short distance away and the driver fled, but a passenger was arrested.
There's no immediate word on any charges.
