The family of a man gunned down in downtown Toronto wants his friends to come forward to help police with their investigation.
Police say Kabil Abdulkadir, 27, was shot and killed as he stepped out of a car around 2:45 a.m. Sunday in front of a Marriott Hotel.
Det. Sgt. Joyce Schertzer says the suspects also arrived by car.
Abdulkadir's mother, Fouzia Hassan, wants his friends who were with him in the car that night to come forward and talk to police.
Abdulkadir's brother and sister also spoke at a teary news conference, saying he didn't deserve to die.
Schertzer says several people have spoken with investigators, but need Abdulkadir's friends to speak with police in a "meaningful manner."
