Police are continuing to investigate a fatal collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle that closed down part of Highway 401 in eastern Ontario.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of the highway in South Stormont Township, just west of Cornwall.
Police say two men in the passenger vehicle, identified as Robert Springer, 44, of Cornwall, and Daniel Figura, 22, of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Que., were fatally injured during the collision.
The tractor trailer driver, a 47-year-old Brampton man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A section of eastbound Highway 401 was closed to traffic (between McConnell Avenue and Boundary Road) for several hours after the incident.
