Two men are facing charges in connection with carjacking incidents in Markham, north of Toronto.
Police say two male suspects armed with handguns approached a vehicle that was idling in the driveway of a residence on Dec. 11 (in the area of Brimley Road and Denison Street).
It's alleged that one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the driver and demanded he get out of the car, a black 2011 BMW 328I.
Police say the victim complied and the suspects got into the car and drove away.
A similar incident took place on Jan. 16, when police say two men armed with a handgun approached a driver whose vehicle was in a parking lot (in the area of Warden Avenue and Highway 7).
It's alleged they pointed a gun at the victim and demanded he give them his vehicle — a white 2013 Mercedes C300 — then drove off with it.
Police say investigators arrested two suspects Tuesday at a plaza in Vaughan.
Search warrants were executed at two residences and on a vehicle, and police say a number of items were seized, including a Glock-style pellet gun.
Brandon Brown, 23, and Abraham Lincoln Wilmot, 25, both of Pickering, are charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence.
Police say the stolen vehicles have not yet been recovered but the investigation is ongoing.
