Two people have been injured in the crash of a small plane northwest of Haliburton.

Haliburton Highlands OPP officers were called Tuesday afternoon after a two-seater aircraft attempting to take off from the Stanhope Airport hit some trees and went down into a wooded area.

The male pilot suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and his male passenger suffered minor injuries.

They were both taken to a local hospital.
