Police in Chatham-Kent say a 25-year-old woman has died in a single-vehicle crash.

Investigators say a car was travelling southwest on Union Line (near Prince Albert Road) around 9 p.m. Sunday when the driver lost control and struck a bridge railing.

They say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while her two-year-old daughter was taken to hospital.

The child has since been released.

Police say the woman's family is asking that her name not be released.

The crash is still under investigation.
