Police say a woman who drove away after her car rolled and then landed back on its wheels is facing an impaired driving charge.

Kingston Ont., police say witnesses reported seeing the car travelling at high speed Thursday night before hitting a curb, rolling and ending up back on all four wheels.

Investigators say the driver then accelerated away with the airbags deployed, the rear passenger door panel torn off and the brakes seized.

They say the car eventually became stuck on a curb and the driver was attempting to push it off when officers arrived.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and allegedly had nearly 2 1/2 times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

She is charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol.
