Andrew Stevens kicked a 23-yard field goal with no time remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Concordia Stingers over the Sherbrooke Vert et Or 23-22 on Thursday night in U Sports football action.
Stevens finished the game 5 for 5 with his longest boot coming from 44 yards.
Jean-Guy Rimpel led the Stingers (1-1) offence by rushing the ball for 151 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries. Quarterback Trenton Miller was 21 of 35 for 230 yards and an interception.
Alex Jacob-Michard completed 14-of-31 passes for 240 yards, one touchdowns and two interceptions for Sherbrooke (0-2) while also running in a TD. Jermer Braswell caught six passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Vert et Or kicker Pierre-Antoine D'Astous booted his second field goal of the game with 1:14 left in the fourth to give Sherbrooke a 22-20 lead before Concordia stormed back down the field to set up Stevens's winning kick.
