Charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault have been stayed against an Edmonton man who had been charged in a stabbing in Saskatoon.

Bobby Joseph Baptiste, 21, had been charged in the death of Tie Kyaw, 40, in March 2010.

Kyaw died after he and a 50-year-old man were stabbed multiple times during what police described as an attempted robbery.

The older man survived the attack.

A 20-year-old man who was a youth at the time of the incident also had charges against him stayed.
