A man accused of killing a woman and dumping her body on a snowmobile trail in northern Saskatchewan has pleaded not guilty.

Todd McKeaveney (meh-KEHV'-nee) is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Monica Burns, who was 28.

Her body was found outside of Prince Albert on Jan. 17.

McKeaveney, who is 38, elected to be tried by judge and jury.

A preliminary hearing is set to begin Sept. 28.

RCMP have said McKeaveney and Burns didn't know each other. (CKBI)
