A Saskatchewan man has been charged after an RCMP officer was injured in a hit and run.
Blake Wahl, who lives near Pense, is accused of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Officers in an unmarked police vehicle were arresting a man on Oct. 19 west of Regina when an SUV headed straight towards the Mounties.
A 42-year-old constable tried to pull the man being arrested out of the way, but they were both hit.
Mounties say Wahl, who is 30, is not the owner of the SUV involved in the collision, nor was it stolen, although it was seized on his property.
Const. Keith Bennett remains in hospital.
The RCMP said in a release Wednesday that he continues to heal from his injuries, but has "a long road to a full recovery."
"His spirits are high and he looks forward to the time when he can return home to his family and return to the job he loves."
