A Regina woman is pleading for someone to return her mother's ashes after they were stolen from her home.

Kristen Vogel says her husband came home on Monday to discover their house had been broken into.

The thieves took Vogel's laptop, a camera and her jewelry box.

But she says she only wants her mother's ashes back, and doesn't care about the other items.

She says she was planning to take the ashes to Mexico to spread them in the ocean where she and her mother, Rhonda Ermel, spent their vacations.

She asks the thieves to put the urn on her front step or in the mailbox.

"She raised me as a single mom and we were best friends," Vogel tells CTV Regina.

"She deserves so much more than to have her ashes end up in the garbage or with somebody who doesn't care about her."

Regina police are investigating, but so far, have no suspects in mind.
