A minor hockey coach in southern Saskatchewan has been accused of sexually assaulting a boy.

Maple Creek RCMP say a parent reported this week that their young son had inappropriate interactions with an adult man.

Police arrested 39-year-old Ryan Chamberlain on Thursday and charged him with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation and sexual interference.

Chamberlain was a hockey coach that worked in several communities in southern Saskatchewan.

He appeared in provincial court in Swift Current on Friday and was released with conditions, including having no contact the victim or anyone under 18 unless with a court-approved adult.

Chamberlain's next court date is March 23.
