A Saskatoon Police Service constable has been charged with assault.

The charge follows an investigation into a police chase last December of a stolen vehicle.

Two people were arrested at the time after police used a device to flatten the stolen vehicle's tires.

Saskatoon police reviewed the arrest along with the Provincial Complaints Commission and the Crown.

Constable Jarret Gelowitz has been reassigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of his case.

Gelowitz is to appear in court on Jan. 25.

Both of the suspects face charges of possessing stolen property and fleeing police. (CTV Saskatoon)
