The sentencing hearing of a man convicted of 20 offences including making child pornography has been told the case involves 14 girls, most of them from the man's neighbourhood in Saskatoon.

The Crown submitted Monday images and videos seized by police from Russell Dennis Wolfe's home.

Wolfe, 58, pleaded guilty last month sexual assault and paying for sexual services from someone under 18, along with the child pornography charges.

The Crown says many of the girls knew each other and some were sisters.

Most were elementary school-aged and the youngest was nine years old.

One collage of naked photos shown by the case's lead investigator documented a girl growing up from the age of 11.

Court was told Wolfe picked up the girls in his car before taking them to his place and giving them alcohol and drugs. He sometimes paid them to perform sexual acts and pose naked for photos. The abuse started in 1997 and lasted a decade.

One victim wrote in an impact statement she "has been suffering to this day from depression." Another victim stated, "If he was sitting across from me, I'd tell him he deserves what's coming — jail."

Wolfe was first arrested in the case in May 2014 as part of a country-wide police bust known as Operation Snapshot III.
