Joel Vermin scored the first of three straight goals as the Syracuse Crunch topped the Toronto Marlies 3-1 on Wednesday night in American Hockey League action.
Anthony DeAngelo and Matt Taormina had the other goals for the Crunch (3-3-1), who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Richard Clune opened the scoring with a power-play goal for Toronto (5-3-0), the Maple Leafs' affiliate.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 29 saves for the Tampa Bay Lightning farm club. Antoine Bibeau turned aside 26 shots for the Marlies.
Syracuse was 0 for 2 on the power play while Toronto converted once on four opportunities with the man advantage.
