Austin Cindric, the 16-year-old son of Team Penske president Tim Cindric, has become the youngest winner in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge series.
Cindric combined with co-driver Jade Buford to win on Saturday at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in their Multimatic Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R-C.
Buford started the 2 1/2-hour race on the outside of the front row. Cindric and Buford held off a challenge from brothers Hugh and Matt Plumb.
It has been a busy few weeks for Cindric, who won the Red Bull RallyCross race at Daytona on June 21. He will drive in the ARCA series race at Iowa next week.
The elder Cindric was travelling to Wisconsin on Saturday for the IndyCar race Sunday at the Milwaukee Mile.
