Austin Herink threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more scores and East Tennessee State beat Kentucky Wesleyan 42-27 on Saturday.

Herink was 14 of 17 for 220 yards passing, and had 20 carries for 134 yards. Jajuan Stinson had 20 carries for 102 yards for East Tennessee State (2-9).

Dalton Oliver was 43 of 53 for 388 yards passing with four touchdowns to lead Kentucky Wesleyan (4-6).

The Buccaneers led 28-21 at the end of the third quarter. Herink threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Wike to stretch its lead to 35-21 midway through the fourth quarter. Oliver connected with Keelan Cole on an 11-yard strike to pull the Panthers to 35-27 with 4:49 to play. Herink ran for a 37-yard score with two minutes left to seal it.
