Caminetto wore down 8-5 favourite Cherubim to win the $60,000 feature by a head Thursday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Caminetto ran six furlongs in 1:08.87 and returned $7.40, $3.40 and $2.80.

Cherubim returned $3.20 and $2.40, while Heir of Storm was another 3 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.80 to show.

The victory, worth $36,000, increased Caminetto's career earnings to $150,650, with three wins in eight starts for owner Kaleem Shah. The 6-year-old gelding is trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert.
