Calvin Pickard made 40 saves and Joey Hishon scored the only goal in the shootout as the Lake Erie Monsters edged the host Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.
Freddie Hamilton, Cody Corbett and Stefan Elliott also scored for the Monsters (35-29-12).
T.J. Hensick and Christian Thomas each had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs (34-29-13) while Eric Tangradi added the other.
Hamilton's Brandon Whitney stopped 33-of-36 shots in defeat.
Lake Erie went 1 for 2 on the power play as the Bulldogs failed to convert on three chances with the man advantage.
With Hamilton failing to qualify for the post-season, this was the last AHL game for the franchise as it will be relocated for the 2015-16 season. The Ontario Hockey League's Belleville Bulls will move to Hamilton next season and play at the FirstOntario Centre.
