Canadian goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc of the Chicago Red Stars has been named the National Women's Soccer League player of the week.
The 35-year-old from Maple Ridge, B.C., faced 10 shots on target in a 1-1 draw against the visiting Houston Dash last Sunday in her final regular-season game.
It marked the third time LeBlanc has won the award.
LeBlanc, who retired from international play after the Women's World Cup this summer, and the Red Stars host FC Kansas City in a playoff semifinal Sunday.
The NWSL weekly award is chosen by journalists that cover the league on a consistent basis.
