A-League club Central Coast has asked players and coaching staff to hand over phone records as it seeks to identify the source of dressing room leaks which may include tactical information provided to opponents.
In a statement Tuesday the club denied reports phones have been confiscated and said compliance was voluntary. It has advised Football Federation Australia the information leaked is "highly sensitive" and a threat to the integrity of the league.
Central Coast said most players and coaches have complied with the request. But the Professional Footballers' Association said it had been contacted by some players who had refused to comply and was providing legal advice.
