Canadian Christine Gauthier finished sixth in the women's KL2 200 metre Paracanoe on Wednesday at the ICF canoe sprint world championships.

The Pointe-Claire, Que., native and five-time world champion qualified Canada a quota spot in the event at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Toronto's Erica Scarff earned a spot in the women's KL3 200 final after finishing third in the semifinals.
