Wonderment romped to a 6 3/4-length victory Sunday in the $125,000 Lynbrook Stakes, the closing day feature at Belmont Park.

Wonderment improved to 2 for 2 in the getaway-day feature for New York bred 2-year-old fillies.
Javier Castellano was aboard for trainer Ken McPeak as Wonderment trounced five rivals in her stakes debut. The time was 1:11.47 for the six furlongs on a blazingly hot afternoon.
"I felt I had a lot of horse but I didn't want to use her too much today because it's so hot," Castellano said. "She kicked clear very well at the top of the stretch."
Wonderment paid $5.30, $2.80 and $2.10.
Young Anna Lee set the pace and held on to second, returning $6.10 and $2.80.

The Lynbrook was one of two wins on the day for Castellano, the meet's leading rider for a third straight year. He edged Irad Ortiz Jr. 56-54.
Todd Pletcher was the top trainer with 43 wins. Chad Brown was second with 33.
