Santo Condorelli won the gold medal in the men's 100-metre freestyle on Friday at the Fran Crippen Memorial swimming competition.
Canadians completed the evening finals with two gold and two silver.
Condorelli, tuning up for the Pan Am Games and FINA World Championships this summer, clocked 49.65 seconds. Cristian Quintero of Venezuela was 0.01 seconds behind and Yuri Kisil of Calgary took the bronze at 50.18. Stefan Milosevic of Vancouver was sixth.
Condorelli's Canadian connection is through his mother, who is from Kenora, Ont. He was born in Japan, grew up in Portland, Ore., and currently resides in Los Angeles.
Canada's second gold was in the men's 4x100 freestyle relay as the University of Calgary placed first in 3:34.55. The swimmers were David Woodman, Russell Wood, Christopher Courtis and Gregory Crocker.
In the women's 4x100 freestyle relay, the University of British Columbia Dolphins were second to the host Mission Viejo squad, finishing in 3:53.91. Rebecca Terejko, Tera Van Beilen, Maia Brundage and Erin Stamp swam for UBC.
Canada earned another medal in the women's 200 backstroke as Commonwealth Games medallist Brooklynn Snodgrass of Calgary took the silver in 2:13.62. Erin Earley of the U.S. was the winner in 2:11.62. MacKenzie Glover of Winnipeg and Rosie Zavaros of Oakville, Ont., were fifth and sixth.
