D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid will miss four to six weeks after undergoing surgeries on his left hand and right knee, according to the team.
On July 8, Hamid had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to smooth out some meniscus. He also had a procedure on a tendon in his left hand.
The 24-year-old Hamid has an 8-4-4 record and leads MLS in save percentage (.819) and goals-against average (0.75). He's tied for fourth with six shutouts, and is sixth in saves with 59.
In 2014 he earned MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honours.
