The defending champion Hawthorn Hawks won their seventh match in 11 starts to continue their move up the standings in the Australian Football League, beating Adelaide 17.12 (114) to 12.13 (85).
Coming off a bye, the Hawks held the Crows to just one goal in the final quarter before a sell-out crowd of 50,000 at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, moving into fifth place.
Three of the four leading teams in the competition — first-place Fremantle, second-place Sydney, fourth-place Collingwood — were among six teams with weekend byes in Round 12.
On Friday, the third-place West Coast Eagles can move level on points with Sydney with a win over Richmond.
