The Detroit Pistons have drafted Villanova guard Darrun Hilliard in the second round of Thursday night's NBA draft.

Hilliard played four seasons at Villanova, and he averaged 14.3 points in each of the last two years. The 6-foot-6 Hilliard shot 39 per cent from 3-point range last season.

The Pistons drafted forward Stanley Johnson of Arizona in the first round, and Hillard may also be able to help them on the wing. He was Villanova's top scorer in 2014-15, when the Wildcats went 33-3.
