Trae Anderson scored 19 points and Eastern Illinois beat Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 60-46 on Saturday night.

Anderson was 9 of 17 from the field while Cornell Johnston added 14 points for the Panthers (9-13, 6-4 Ohio Valley), who have won three straight and five of their last six.

Carlos Anderson and Joshua White scored 10 points each for the Cougars (4-18, 1-9), losers of four straight and 11 of their last 12. Anderson grabbed 11 rebounds and Michael Chandler 10.

Eastern Illinois led just 22-20 at halftime but opened up the second half on a 14-2 run capped by Joe Kuligoski's 3-pointer to take a 36-22 lead with 16 minutes left. A bucket by Anderson made it a 16-point advantage with six minutes to go.

The Cougars had a 48-33 edge on the boards including 21-6 on the offensive boards but were undone by 17-of-62 shooting for only 27 per cent.
