Burak Eslik scored 21 points and was perfect on 10 free-throw attempts, Carlos Anderson had 18 points and nine rebounds, and SIU Edwardsville got its first Ohio Valley Conference win Saturday when it topped Eastern Kentucky 67-65.

SIU Edwardsville (4-14, 1-5) ended the game on a 5-0 run to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Trailing 65-62 with 1:10 remaining, C.J. Carr's jumper pulled the Cougars within one point. Eastern Kentucky (11-9, 2-3) came up empty when Michael Chandler blocked Jarelle Reischel's attempt, and Eslik was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 18 seconds left.

Eslik made all three foul shots to give Edwardsville a two-point lead. Jaylen Babb-Harrison and Reischel each missed 3-point attempts in the final five seconds.

Nick Mayo led the Colonels with a career-high 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

Edwardsville outrebounded Eastern Kentucky 40-26 and the teams combined for 37 turnovers.
