Ja'Dante' Frye scored 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting and grabbed six rebounds, and Nicholls State beat Division III Louisiana College 80-62 on Tuesday night.

Liam Thomas scored 12 points with five rebounds, T.J. Carpenter added 10 points with seven rebounds, and Johnathan Bell had seven boards for the Colonels (2-3).

Nicholls State led 19-9 after Frye's 3-pointer and was ahead 36-27 at halftime.

Louisiana College (1-3) pulled to within 36-31 on a layup by Kevin Lewis, but the Colonels pulled away on a 14-2 run in which Luka Kamber hit two 3-pointers and stayed ahead.

The Colonels shot 47 per cent and made 4 of 15 3-pointers (27 per cent). Tre O'Neal and Schane Rillieux both contributed three of the 17 assists Nicholls used in making 27 of 58 field goals.

Lewis led the Wildcats with 17 points and Kevin Cottonham added 12.
