Graham Fach made history Sunday, becoming the first Canadian to win on the PBA Tour when he claimed the Barbasol Players Championship title.

The 24-year-old from Guelph, Ont., did it in just his second PBA Tour event, defeating American Ryan Ciminelli 279-244 at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl.

Fach collected US$40,000 in winning the tournament, considered one of the majors on the PBA Tour.

"It's a great feeling to win against players of this calibre," said Fach, who got a shaving cream facial from his fellow players after the victory. "They want to win, but obviously I want to win, too

"I wasn't sure I would be able to compete out here, but the only way to find out is come out and try. Now at least the PBA staff knows who I am."

Fach, who bowled collegiately at nearby Urbana (Ohio) University, posted the win with his mother and girlfriend in the stands.
