Marek Hamsik scored twice as Napoli took a giant step toward the Europa League semifinals Thursday by beating Wolfsburg 4-1 away in the first leg of their quarterfinal.

Hamsik scored with two calm finishes in the 23rd and 64th minutes as Napoli left the German team needing a big win in the second leg in Naples on April 23.

In the other quarterfinals, defending champion Sevilla came from a goal down to beat Zenit St. Petersburg 2-1 at home, with substitute Denis Suarez scoring the winner with a volley from the edge of the area.

In Ukraine, Fiorentina rescued a 1-1 draw at Dynamo Kyiv, with Khouma Babacar's stoppage-time leveler saving the Italian team from a third straight loss in all competitions.

Belgium's Club Brugge played out a 0-0 draw at home to Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
