Fullback Allysha Chapman, who was in a sling just two days prior, was on the bench Tuesday for Canada's Olympic soccer semifinal against second-ranked Germany.
Veteran Rhian Wilkinson got the start, earning her 180th cap. Chapman's shoulder popped out Friday night when she was flattened in 10th-ranked Canada's 1-0 quarter-final win over France.
Chapman, with the aid of several injections, returned to training Monday. But she was not deemed recovered sufficiently enough to start.
Another change saw veteran striker Melissa Tancredi come in for Diana Matheson. Tancredi scored both goals in Canada's 2-1 preliminary-round win over Germany.
Fullback Josee Belanger was suspended for the semifinal for yellow card accumulation.
Going into Tuesday's match, Ashley Lawrence had started three matches at fullback here, Wilkinson and Chapman two each and Belanger one.
