Captain Sergio Parisse will not be with Italy when it travels to England for the Rugby World Cup, and centre Luca Morisi has been ruled out of the tournament entirely.

The No. 8 Parisse had fluid drained from his left leg, which was bruised in a 23-19 loss at Wales on Saturday in Italy's final pre-tournament test.

Parisse will continue his recovery with Stade Francais, his club, and join the national team on a date yet to be determined, the Italian federation said.

Italy gathers in Rome on Saturday, and begins at the Rugby World Cup against France in 10 days at Twickenham.

Centres Morisi and Gonzalo Garcia were also injured against Wales.

Morisi was diagnosed on Wednesday with a torn ligament in his right knee. The federation said a replacement would be named soon.

Garcia has a right ankle problem but will report to the squad on time, and continue his recovery.
