Italy international Sebastian Giovinco scored a hat trick to spark Toronto FC's 4-1 win over Orlando City on Wednesday and take the Major League Soccer scoring lead and break Toronto's single-season scoring record.
The 5-foot-4 (1.62-meter) Italian, known as the Atomic Ant, has 16 goals this season, one more than Columbus' Kei Kamara.
Giovinco also broke the Toronto season record of 15 set by Dwayne De Rosario in 2010.
Elsewhere, New York's Lloyd Sam scored early in the second half as the Red Bulls drew 1-1 with the Montreal Impact.
