Jaren Lewis hit 8 of 10 shots for 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists as Abilene Christian rolled over NAIA's University of the Southwest 94-63 in a season opener on Friday night.

Jovan Crnic and Jaylen Franklin had 15 points apiece and Parker Wentz, who was 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, added 14 points. Austin Cooke grabbed 13 rebounds with 8 points for Abilene Christian.

The Wildcats opened the season slowly as they led 42-38 at the half, but outscored the Mustangs 52-25 in the second half to coast to the victory.

Southwest stayed close in the first part of the final half until Lewis drove for a layup, made two free throws and then followed with a dunk to give Abilene Christian a 50-42 lead at the 16:41 mark.

Darius Revels led Southwest with 15 points and Pat Beltran chipped in 12.
