Kierra Smith won gold in the women's 200-metre breaststroke to headline a five-medal Canadian performance on Friday at the U.S. Pro Swim Series.

The 21-year-old Kelowna, B.C., native clocked two minutes and 24.36 seconds for the win. It was her second international medal within a couple of weeks. Late last month she took bronze at a FINA World Cup in Tokyo.

Haley Spencer of the United States claimed silver in 2:26.92 while Toronto's Martha McCabe was third in 2:27.13.

Canada also had two medallists in the women's 100 backstroke. Missy Franklin of the U.S. won the race in 1:00.18, with Toronto's Kylie Masse second in 1:00.31 and Dominique Bouchard of North Bay, Ont., third in 1:00.66.

For the second time at this competition, Santo Condorelli reached the podium with silver in the men's 50 freestyle after clocking a personal best 22.54. He was also second in the 100 butterfly on Thursday. Nathan Adrian of the U.S., was first in a pool record 21.56.
