Kevin Larsen scored 21 points and George Washington held off Army late to post a 92-81 victory over the Black Knights in a first-round game in the Barclay's Center Classic Sunday night.

The Colonials (4-0) finished the first half on a 6-2 run and took an 11-point lead, 46-35, into intermission.

Army (3-1) used a fast start to the second half and a 15-3 run to take a 50-49 lead on a Tanner Plomb's 3-pointer with 15:39 left. After Larry Toomey drilled a 3-pointer to give the Black Knights a 53-51 lead, George Washington ran off 15 unanswered points for a 66-53 lead and the Colonials cruised to the finish.

Patricio Garino and Matt Hart scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, for George Washington.

Plomb finished with 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 4 of 9 from distance, and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Army.
