Benfica striker Jonas scored three minutes into stoppage time to snatch a 1-0 win at Boavista and reclaim the lead of the Portuguese league from Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.

Jonas was set up by substitute Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez, who headed on a pass by Eliseu Pereira.

The win restored Benfica's two-point lead over Sporting, which routed Arouca 5-1 on Saturday to move to the top of the table overnight.

"We have surpassed all the barriers in this league," said Benfica coach Rui Vitoria.

With seven rounds left in the Portuguese league, Benfica will also meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Also on Sunday, Braga beat Uniao de Madeira 2-0, Estoril won 3-0 at Academica and Nacional edged Guimaraes 3-2.

Tondela and Belenenses drew 2-2 while Ferreira and Moreiense shared a goalless draw.
