James Milner scored the winner in the 75th minute to give Liverpool a 2-1 comeback win over A-League club Brisbane Roar in a friendly match Friday in front of more than 50,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium.
Dimitri Petratos gave the Roar an unexpected 1-0 lead in the 17th minute but Adam Lallana equalized nine minutes later, curling his shot into the top corner of the net.
Milner, drafted as a replacement for Steven Gerrard, who is now playing for the LA Galaxy, scored the winner when he slid the ball through the legs of Roar captain Jade North and fired a shot that deflected past goalkeeper Jamie Young.
Milner joined Liverpool last month after rejecting a new contract offer from Manchester City, where he had played for five years.
