Maggie Lyon knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead No. 19 Northwestern to its second Lone Star Showcase victory in as many days, cruising past Creighton 75-52 on Friday night.

After holding off pesky Eastern Washington, 74-70 on Thanksgiving day, the Wildcats grabbed an early lead and never let up. Northwestern (5-0) led by 13 points after one quarter and 40-24 at intermission.

Lyon was 7 of 15 from the field in the game but connected on 5 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. Ashley Deary was 2 of 3 from distance and added 17 points while Nia Coffey added 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Northwestern.

The Wildcats shot 9 of 15 from distance (60 per cent) and 27 of 59 from the floor (45.8 per cent)

Marissa Janning led Creighton (3-2) with 14 points.

The Wildcats close out the three-game tournament against East Carolina Saturday.
